Xeskouriazo 2023: Race Report and Final Results
The 10 th Xeskouriazo Trail has come to an end with great success.
Approximately 400 athletes participated, both from Greece and various countries abroad, such as the United Kingdom, Estonia, Serbia, Cyprus, and Germany. The Women’s Association of Megali Panagia would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in any way in today’s event. The volunteers, the athletes, the clubs that took part, as well as the people who were present on Kakkavos mountain and on Megali Panagia’s square. We will keep on running for the environment and for life. We will continue fighting against destruction. “Xeskouriazo trail” will remain dedicated to the struggle against gold-copper mining that threatens our mountain, our waters, our lives.
Every year, we try hard to improve the organization further, particularly this year, by installing permanent marking on the trails, integrating our races with the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), and the 24km race with the UTMB Index Races, and by improving the cleanliness our trails. For any mistakes that may have occurred, we promise that we truly listen to the feedback and remarks of athletes and will incorporate their comments into our future events. This is why we encourage everyone to send us their feedback either to the organization’s email or on our social media pages.
Looking forward to seeing you in 2024
