ANNOUNCEMENT: Minor Modifications to 24km & 14km
Due to the recent concession of 400 acres of forest to Eldorado, ongoing deforestation, continued destruction, and the erection of new fences, we have been forced to make small modifications to the race routes. We have done our best to preserve their originally announced characteristics.
According to a recent evaluation by ITRA and an accurate recording of Xeskouriazo mountain running races, the routes until a few days ago were:
• 24.2 km / +1160 m
• 14.15 km / +570 m
The previous trail, as shown on the maps we posted, has been fenced off and cleared. Therefore, a new trail has been opened, passing through the beautiful Kakavos forest, which slightly increases both the distance and elevation of the routes. The updated routes are now as follows:
• 24.85 km / +1200 m
• 14.80 km / +610 m
The new data will be submitted for re-evaluation to ITRA, and the race details on the event website will be updated accordingly.
We ask for your understanding and support, as these changes are not our choice but are solely the result of the ongoing destruction we face daily in our region.
We declare that we will continue to exist on the mountain, protect the forest, fight, and run against the destructive mining plans in Skouries and Northeast Halkidiki.
